Dr Who actor Arthur Darvill, who plays Amy Pond’s boyfriend in the TV series, helped to launch a Walsall school play area made out of recycled material. The actor, from Bournville, met children at Whitehall Infant School.

To coincide with the launch of the Doctor Who Complete Series 6 DVD and BLURAY boxset, the TARDIS crew will be materialising at one of Europe’s biggest shopping centres, Westfield Stratford, London on Monday 21 November 2012.
The two-fold event will be a signing (limited to 250 people with a wristband that can be collected at HMV from 08:30 on the day of the signing at HMV (starting at 13:30) and a Q&A session with Jo Whiley (at the Gallery between 16:00 and 16:30). (SOURCE)

I’ve added a bunch of MQ promotional images of Rory from Part 2 of Series 6, and also some lovely untagged images from a gorgeous photoshoot (we already had the whole shoot tagged, but a lovely Tumblr account posted some untagged, so a huge thanks to them!).
A stellar cast of actors has been assembled for a script-in-hand performance of Softcops, Caryl Churchill’s rarely performed masterpiece about the criminal justice system.
It will be performed on Sunday 30 October at 11.30am in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford upon Avon as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 50th Birthday celebrations.
Arthur Darvill will play Pierre. He is best known to television viewers for playing Rory Williams in Doctor Who.
John Marquez, who will play Vidocq, plays regular character, PC Penhale in ITV’s popular series, Doc Martin.
Geoffrey Streatfeild, who last performed for the RSC in Michael Boyd’s award-winning Histories Season – playing Henry V amongst other roles – will play Lacenaire and Conspirator. He has just completed a series of Spooks for the BBC playing Calum Reed.
The cast also includes: Samuel Collings (Luc), Nigel Cooke (Minister), Craig Ritchie (Lafayette and Warder), Tim Steed (Headmaster and Conspiritor) and Howard Ward (Magistrate and Bentham).
Softcops, which was premiered by the RSC in 1984, was inspired by Michel Foucault’s theoretical book, Discipline and Punish and explores the ways governments seek to depoliticise subversive acts. Caryl Churchill’s other plays include: Top Girls, Serious Money, Cloud Nine, The Skriker, A Number and Drunk Enough to Say I Love You?
Whilst news about Arthur is rather quiet, I am working to get the gallery up to date – Episode Screencaptures and Confidential screencaptures have been added from the Doctor Who finale The Wedding of River Song! Other stuff is coming soon, including some more Doctor Who promotionals, and some more theatre images!
